The Cathedral has a basilican layout, with three naves, separated by two rows of thirteen columns, made of reinforced concrete faced with artificial marble. The columns which have capitals in various styles, culminate in pointed arches.

As is customary in Christian basilicas, the apses face east, symbol of rebirth and Resurrection. The internal length of the Cathedral is 92 m. and its width at the transept is about 40 m. It is 30 m. high at the transept and 25 m. at the main nave.
